Apply for a Permit
All permits are processed through the permitting portal, which can be accessed here. Additional instructions can be found here.
Gather Application Materials
Permit Fee Estimates
Permit fees increase with inflation each year on January 1. If you would like a fee estimate, please email a draft application to PermitCenter@KentWA.gov. Include the project valuation and square footage.
Due to the current workload volumes, a fee estimate will take at least four weeks to complete.
Get Inspections
Inspections are for construction work permitted by Economic and Community Development.
Please login here and select the relevant permit to schedule, cancel, or reschedule an inspection. Instructions on how to navigate the portal may be found here.
Inspections may be scheduled for as soon as the following business day. To cancel/reschedule a future inspection please do so via the permitting portal. For same-day cancellations please call 253-856-5412.
