Learn about Volunteer Options in Kent's Parks
Green Kent Partnership Events
- Students - have fun while earning community service credit!
- Families and Individuals - enjoy quality time in the great outdoors.
- Businesses, Clubs and Teams - why not join or host an event near you?
Make an impact you can see! Green Kent volunteers and city staff help restore and maintain our parks and trails using a hands-on approach. Year-round events are held most Saturdays and some Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, rain or shine. Weekday events can be arranged. Wear socks and sturdy shoes or boots (no flip-flops or sandals) and dress for the weather.
ONLINE GREEN KENT EVENT REGISTRATION ensures that we have adequate tools and staff supervision so our events are safe and fun for everyone. A safety briefing and water are provided at all events. Visit GreenKent.org for more information.
Eagle Scout Projects
Over 230 projects have been completed by Scouts to improve Kent's parks. Eagle Scout candidates should allow a minimum of three months to plan and execute their project. All projects must be completed within six months. For details about available projects, please complete and return the following Eagle Scout Questionnaire by email. You can also mail or deliver it to: Eagle Scout Applications, Kent Parks Planning and Development, 220 Fourth Ave. South, Kent, WA 98032.
Kent Community Garden
Twice a year, volunteers help city staff and gardeners to both prepare and decommission our seasonal community garden. The garden provides access to healthy fresh food that may not be available to our gardeners otherwise. Please join us at our late March or late October event - or both! - to contribute to this important effort. REGISTER ONLINE and get more details at KentWA.gov/Garden.
