Examples of questions from adults:

  • What are signs my kid is using drugs or alcohol?
  • What local resources are available to help us deal with addictions?

Examples of questions from kids:

  • I am concerned about a friend who is using drugs or alcohol. Who can I talk to?
  • How do I say "no" when my friends pressure me to use drugs or alcohol?

The Kent Drug Free Coalition works with students, parents, schools and community members to prevent and reduce underage drug and alcohol use. We work closely with the Kent Police Youth Board in these efforts!

    Some of our work includes:

    - Town hall meetings for parents & educators
    - Working with alcohol establishments to ensure legal sales, ID checks and safe service
    - Providing parents and other information on talking with youth about the impacts of drugs and alcohol
    - Distribution of Youth Connections Magazine - great articles for parents and kids!
    - Partnering with Kent Schools to work with students

We are always looking for community members, youth and adult, to join us. Meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each month, 5:30 pm at the Kent Police Department. For more information, contact 253-856-5883 or sjudd@kentwa.gov
