Permit resubmittals are accepted electronically or via parcel delivery/ US Mail only.
Paper plans can be picked up in person, by appointment only, after fees have been paid. How do I pay?

Building Services reviews and inspects new buildings, additions and alterations, as well as plumbing and mechanical permits.
Sewer, Water, Traffic / Roads, Storm Water, Civil Construction
Required for items such as fire sprinklers, alarm systems, and systems that use hazardous materials.
Projects that are likely to create an impact to sensitive environmental areas, nearby residents and businesses or create long-term changes to the City require land use review and public notice.

Common permits for residences can be filed on-line. Once we've processed your application, you will receive an email including the fee and instructions to pay-by-phone. Please allow two to three weeks for processing. If you need immediate processing, please visit the permit center.
Permit fees increase with inflation on January 1 of each year. Fee estimates are not provided over the phone. If you would like a fee estimate, please email a brief description of your project including project valuation and square footage to email@example.com. Due to the high volume of fee estimate requests, please allow 2-3 weeks for a response.
All businesses operating in Kent require a City of Kent Business License.
