2018-2019 Periodic Review

The City of Kent Shoreline Master Program sets rules for how we use or develop Kent's shorelines.

The City is reviewing its Shoreline Master Program (SMP), to comply with Washington's Shoreline Management Act (SMA). The SMA requires that each SMP be reviewed, and revised if needed, every 8 years. This regular review makes sure the SMP stays current with changes in laws and rules, is consistent with other City of Kent plans and regulations, and reflects changed circumstances and new information.

The project team completed a gap analysis to identify potential updates

You can review the gap analysis report here:

Kent 2018 SMP Periodic Update - Gap Analysis

The City has a plan for how the public will be engaged on the update.
