The City of Kent Shoreline Master Program sets rules for how we use or develop Kent's shorelines.
The City is reviewing its Shoreline Master Program (SMP), to comply with Washington's Shoreline Management Act (SMA). The SMA requires that each SMP be reviewed, and revised if needed, every 8 years. This regular review makes sure the SMP stays current with changes in laws and rules, is consistent with other City of Kent plans and regulations, and reflects changed circumstances and new information.

The Public Comment Period on the proposed revisions opens February 22nd, 2019 and closes March 25th, 2019. A joint public hearing will be held by Department of Ecology and City of Kent on March 25, 2019, 7:00pm at Kent City Hall.
