Marquee on Meeker
Pedestrian access, mixed-use amenities and attractive design in both infrastructure and landscape is the model for 21st century planning—and that’s exactly what’s happening on Kent’s Meeker Street. A key piece of the puzzle is the Marquee on Meeker, a high-end development currently under construction on the River Bend Golf Course.
Once complete, the Marquee will house 500 apartments and 12,000 square feet of retail space. Adjacent to the popular Green River Trail, the Marquee is designed with a 200-foot open space buffer, the preserving a park-like quality and as many of the large trees as possible from the golf course.
Public access is a critical aspect in the development’s design which includes a plaza framed by restaurants will welcome the public whether they stroll here on foot, arrive by car or cruise in on bicycle. The development is anticipated to open in fall of 2019.

LINK Light Rail in West Kent
Activity is heating up on the western edge of Kent with the expansion to Federal Way of Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail line and construction of two stations within Kent city limits. Final design is slated to begin by 2019 with construction anticipated by 2020.
When the line opens in 2024, it will connect Kent north to Sea-Tac Airport, downtown Seattle, the University of Washington, and east to Bellevue and Redmond. Connections will only increase as Sound Transit continues to expand its reach over the coming decades.
