Lake Meridian Aquatic Weeds

The City of Kent has completed the update of the 2002 Lake Meridian Integrated Aquatic Vegetation Management Plan or “IAVMP” with funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology). Aquatic weeds like white water waterlily and Eurasian milfoil can harm recreation and the environment and the IAVMP documents Lake Meridian history and conditions, community input, potential management options, and the action plan. The Lake Meridian IAVMP 2026 Update can be downloaded below.

The IAVMP has been approved by Ecology and the City of Kent has been tentatively awarded a $75,000 grant from Ecology. The grant will fund the implementation of the first year of the IAVMP, including herbicide treatments of white water lily with imazamox and Eurasian milfoil with ProcellaCOR. Treatments are tentatively expected to begin in Spring 2027.
