On May 4, we had a record number of volunteers participate in the City’s spring TeamUp2CleanUp event. We had 174 volunteers of all ages help out, 50 more than last fall and 70 more than last spring!

The Downey Farmstead Restoration project is entering the next phase of work, the relocation of Frager Road. A contractor for the City will be grinding up the existing roadway and utilizing this material as material for the new Frager Road.

The Kent Parks & Recreation Department submitted several entries for judging at the Washington State Festival and Events Association 26th Annual Conference and won the Gold Summit Award for best t-shirt design and Christmas Fun Run won Silver for best t-shirt design.

Cindy Robinson, has been officially promoted and appointed as the Manager at the Kent Senior Activity Center. She has been serving as the interim Manager for the past 16 months while also continuing her duties as one of three Program Coordinators at the Center.
