Kent City Councilmember Toni Troutner, elected in 2017, assumes office having a deep understanding of the issues facing Kent residents, families and businesses. Having lived in Kent for over 20 years, Toni has been active and involved in the community through a variety of volunteer and community service roles.
She has served Kent students and families as the president of the Kent School District Parent, Teacher and Student Association. Her commitment to public safety led her to serve as a commissioner on the Civil Service Commission and currently on the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Governance Board. She is the chair of the Kent Drug Free Coalition and a board member on the Kent Downtown Partnership, as well as the leader for the Kent Severe Weather Shelter.
Since assuming office, Toni has been assigned to serve as the chair of the council’s Public Safety Committee and as a member of the Public Works Committee and the Disability Retirement Board. Her work will continue to focus on public safety, investing in our infrastructure, and continuing to invest in our one of a kind parks system while fighting to keep taxes low for Kent residents and businesses.
During her free time, Toni enjoys spending time with her husband Brett, and her sons Kyler and Connor. They enjoy running, hiking and spending time together outdoors.
