July 2026 Employee of the Month

Post Date:07/22/2026
Congratulations to our July 2026 Employee of the Month, Kent Police Corrections Sergeant Chris Ward.

Chris has been with the City of Kent since 1994, when he hired on as a Corrections Officer in our City of Kent Corrections Facility. When he was promoted to Corrections Sergeant, he became a first line supervisor to our Corrections Officers, providing both guidance and monitoring to them in the performance of their duties.

As a sergeant, he also has a role in the implementation and monitoring of division policies to ensure the safety, security, control and well being of staff and inmates.

Chris was nominated because he has been a valued employee of the City of Kent Corrections Facility for nearly 30 years. Throughout his employment, he has consistently demonstrated a positive, can-do attitude and regularly goes above and beyond to support his coworkers and fellow City employees.

Chris continually seeks ways to make the workplace more positive and supportive for those around him. His professionalism and commitment to duty truly exemplify what it means to be a City of Kent Corrections Facility employee.

Thank you, Chris, for continuously embracing Kent’s values, for always supporting your co-workers and for you dedication to providing the best environment in our accredited jail facility.
