Bicycling along the Green River Trail at RiverbendThe City of Kent is looking for residents to fill vacancies on the Bicycle Advisory Board. If you are an avid cyclist and care about issues that impact cyclists in Kent, this might be the right volunteer opportunity for you!

The Kent Bicycle Advisory Board meets the last Monday of each month to advise the Kent Mayor and City Council on projects, policies and programs that improve and/or affect bicycling conditions in Kent. Members of the board typically serve two-year terms. These open positions expire March 31, 2021. Applications are available online and are due by 5 p.m.

“The City's boards and commissions are a great way for residents to get involved in areas they care about,” said Kent Mayor Dana Ralph. “That's how I first got involved with the City, and I am grateful for that experience.”

Conveniently located between Seattle and Tacoma, Kent is the sixth largest city in Washington and the third largest in King County, serving a diverse population of more than 129,000. What was once known as the Lettuce Capital of the World has become the home of world-class aerospace companies as well as a prime location for advanced manufacturing. With beautiful parks, trails and open spaces, the Green River and views of Mount Rainier, Kent has great outdoor recreational options, along with good schools and a wide range of sports and entertainment opportunities.
