Interurban Trail at S 228th StStarting Monday, April 15, the Interurban Trail along the Union Pacific Railroad between James Street and the Connector Trail south of 212th Street will be closed until late 2020. This closure is necessary for the continued work on the 228th street UPRR grade separation and overpass project.

There will be a detour in place along 68th Avenue/West Valley Highway, between James and the Connector Trail, for pedestrians and bicyclists. See detour map below.

The ongoing work includes installation of stone column ground improvements, installation of bridge shafts, construction of a new waterline, construction of the bridge, installation of large storm water vaults, construction of embankments and retaining walls, roadway and barriers.

There are times when the roadway at the trail crossing will not be affected by the construction for several weeks or months. During those periods of time, the trail will be open, and we will alert the public via Facebook, Twitter and Nextdoor.
