Kent Police Investigate a Series of Early Morning Armed Robberies
At approximately 1:45 am this morning, Kent patrol units responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store located at 511 Central Ave S, for a takeover-style robbery with reports of one shot being fired. According to store employees, three suspects entered the 7-Eleven, pointed guns at them, and one of the suspects fired a shot. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money. Kent patrol was unable to locate the suspects, and as they were still investigating the first robbery, another call came in at 2:53 am, in regards to another takeover-style robbery. The same three suspects entered the Chevron located at 27121 Military Road S, again brandishing guns, and this time fired two shots during the robbery. They again stole an undisclosed amount of money, and fled prior to Police arrival.
In review of surveillance footage the suspects wore dark clothing, masks, and gloves. They fled in a green 1996 Subaru Impreza with WA license plate BDZ2928. This vehicle was stolen out of Oregon just one day prior to the robberies. The suspects are believed to be males, around 18 years of age with average height and weight. Their description is as following:
Suspect #1 was wearing a black puffy hooded North Face jacket, black Adidas pants, and tan work boots.
Suspect #2 was wearing a black hooded Adidas jacket with three white stripes down sleeves, black Adidas pants, black boots, and a green mask.
Suspect #3 was wearing a puffy hooded gray jacket with black sleeves, black pants with three gray stripes down the legs, black New Balance shoes, a blue long sleeve shirt wrapped around his head, and gloves.
“We are thankful that no one was hurt in either of these incidents; our goal now is to identify and locate those involved and get them off of our streets, this is a zero tolerance situation,” said Detective Melanie Robinson.”
Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and are following up on all leads.
The suspects and the vehicle are still outstanding. They should be considered armed and dangerous. Kent Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or the Kent Police tip line 253-856-5808.
