Mayor Dana Ralph invites community to September 21 flag-raising ceremony
to cheer on the Seattle Thunderbirds before their September 22 home opener
Fall is almost here, and that means it is hockey season! Mayor Dana Ralph invites the community to join her at noon on Friday, September 21 for a flag-raising ceremony to cheer on the Seattle Thunderbirds before their September 22 home opener at accesso ShoWare Center. The ceremony will be held in front of City Hall at 220 Fourth Avenue South in downtown Kent.
In addition to the mayor, members of the Kent City Council, city staff, Seattle Thunderbirds’ head coach Matt O’Dette, the T-Birds’ team captain, Cool Bird and announcer Tom Helm will be on hand to join the celebration.
“My family and I love going to ShoWare to cheer on our favorite hockey team – the Seattle Thunderbirds,” said Mayor Dana Ralph. “I hope everyone will come down and help us get the season off to a great start. Go Birds!”
