Streets

The City maintains approximately 320 miles of roadway in Kent.

The annual maintenance need is approximately $12 million per year, yet $5 million remains unfunded. In addition, there is a $250 Million backlog of work to replace, upgrade, and maintain our aging roadways that is not funded.

The City Council enacted a Business and Occupation (B&O) Tax in 2012 to help pay for the backlog of necessary street repairs.

We wish to extend our thanks to the business community and Kent residents for their support in ensuring Kent has a safe and efficient transportation system.  While this funding has allowed the City to complete some much needed work, there is still much more that remains unfunded.
