Green Kent Work Party at Springwood Park
Location: Springwood Park
Date: Sunday, April 19, 2015   9 a.m.- noon, rain or shine
Description: Our early spring means the blackberries have had more time to grow. So let's tackle them and make sure no other invasive plants have tried to sneak back into the already cleared areas.

Green Kent Battle of the Corporate Stars
Location: Park Orchard Park
Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2015   9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine
Description: This Earth Day challenge is JUST for corporate groups. 1970: Vietnam, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles' last album...and the first Earth Day. With that in mind, dig this: 20 teams of 5 suited up in 70s finery (optional, but highly encouraged!) will tackle blackberries and ivy for bragging rights and prizes at the end of the morning. Coffee, snacks, water and lunch will be provided (thanks, Starbucks and Ivar's). Pick a cool 70s team name and sign up your company's team by April 15! As Howard Cosell actually said on the original Battle of the Network Stars show: "...lusting for victory at any cost!"

Green Kent Work Party at Clark Lake Park-New Site
Location: Clark Lake Park
Date: Saturday, May 2, 2015   9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine
Description: Join new Steward Brian for his first work party in another area of Clark Lake Park where the Himalayan blackberries and other nasty invasives would love to take over. His site is next to two other Stewarded sites, so the progress will really show.

Family Day in the Forest
Location: Morrill Meadows Park
Date: Saturday, May 9, 2015   9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine, followed by lunch
Description: This is a new event just for families. Learn about some of the plants in your own back yard and in our parks, and help the Green Kent Partnership make this forest a healthier place for people, birds and animals. We'll tackle blackberries, and kids can make some woodsy crafts for Mother's Day. A hot dog lunch at the end...and everyone gets to take home a free native plant, too. Only 100 spots, so sign up your family today!

Another Green Kent Work Party at Clark Lake Park
Location: Clark Lake Park
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2015   9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine
Description: Steward Suzanne and her young sidekick, Support Steward Aidan, are tackling the reedcanary grass and blackberries. Those weeds won't stand a chance if we keep after them. Come help!

Second Spring Work Party at Springwood Park
Location: Springwood Park
Date: Saturday, May 23, 2015   9 a.m.-noon, rain or shine
